Ten days in May

United beat Tottenham 2-1 at Old Trafford on the last day of the season to win the league.

Six days later they beat Newcastle 2-0 in the FA Cup final, with goals from Teddy Sheringham and Paul Scholes.

Then came Barcelona. Bayern Munich led through Mario Basler's early goal until injury time, when Sheringham and Ole Gunnar Solskjær scored within minutes of each other to win it 2-1.

The Cork connection

Roy Keane captained the side and drove them through the semi-final in Turin, where United came from 2-0 down to beat Juventus 3-2. A booking that night ruled him out of the final.

Paul Scholes missed the final too. Denis Irwin, another Cork man, started at left-back in Barcelona.

The shirts

The home shirt is classic United red, with the SHARP sponsor and a quarter-zip collar.

The white away shirt has black and red diamond taping on the shoulders.

The black third shirt has red, white and black piping and the same quarter-zip neck. It is our pick of the three.
